Nature's Super Glue
Effective, Safe and Easy
We call it
Nature's Super Glue because that's what it is. For hydroseeding it's the best
thing around. The effectiveness of any spray-on seeding method relies on the
seed staying in place through germination and longer. Albright's SENTINEL
tackifier, mixed into the slurry of seed, mulch, fertilizer and water, glues and
holds the mixture to barren soil. The crust that forms protects the seed from
birds, wind and rain erosion, while holding moisture for a high germination
rate. Compared to other planting methods used
on slopes, hydroseeding is extremely cost-effective both initially and to
maintain, costing a fraction of other planting methods. With SENTINEL on
guard, if a hydroseeded area is damaged, the crust will expand and self-repair
when re-wet. At the heart of successful
hydro-seeding is the tackifier, for unless the slurry stays in place, nothing
will grow. SENTINEL was designed to be used in all seasons and to take
advantage of the naturally-occurring adhesive properties of hydrophilic colloid
found in Plantago insularis. This cutting-edge product is completely
organic, biodegradable, nontoxic and is derived from seed husks. "This is as close to a perfect
product as I've ever seen. It mixes easily into solution and stays suspended in
the slurry. It even makes the hydroseeding equipment work better by lubricating
the mulch fibers. That keeps the pumps from plugging and increases the effective
range of the spray," said Paul Albright of Albright Seed Company. "Add to all these features that its pH is an even 7.0, absolutely
neutral, it doesn't affect soil acidity or any amendments that may have been
tilled in to adjust the soil's pH." Compared to plastic emulsions, this
all-natural dry-powder tackifier weighs just one-fifth as much, making it easier
to store, load and handle on the spray rig and at the job site.
"SENTINEL works great as a
dust control agent on construction sites and any place dust is a problem, more
important than ever since increased attention is being given to airborne dust by
environmental agencies. Using it with a small amount of fiber creates a crust
that will hold dust down. It can be easily and cheaply maintained with localized
